You will be able to claim your donation for tax purposes.
The Lodge is registered with the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services under section 57-49 of the Virginia Solicitation of Contributions Law. A financial statement is available upon written request from the office of Consumer Affairs.
More importantly, 100% of your donation will be used locally. The Newport News Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25 uses local vendors and contributes to local charities.
At times the Newport News Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25 contracts with a local business for telephone fundraisers. All monies gathered locally are disbursed locally.
Please note: The telephone solicitors work for a separate business and are not police officers. If you are contacted by someone claiming to be a police officer asking for donations for the Newport News Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #25, please contact me at  (757) 926-4711 so we can investigate the matter. Inquiries can also be sent to our web page via E-mail at: newportnewsfop25@yahoo.com or just click on the button above.  *** NOTE: We are currently using telephone solicitation again for our programs. NAS Marketing is our current company. They use the email address of nnfoplodge25@gmail.com to send out sponsorship letters. This email is used exclusively by NAS for that purpose and the lodge itself does not see any of the email sent to or from that account.

President's Message

In 2016, the Newport News FOP Lodge and our Associates contributed over $5,000 to charities, youth programs, law enforcement support groups and the families of fallen officers. We spent over $5,000 on our Annual FOP Cops and Kids Program  for children in need and victims of crime in the Hampton Roads area.

We would like to thank all of you in our community who stepped up and gave what you could in an effort to help us with the funding  we needed to continue to support our numerous causes. We were able to donate again this year to many of our favorite charities, thanks to the wonderful community support we can always count on.  Since we don't have the manpower to do our own solicitations, we do utilize the services of NAS Marketing Company to assist with our fundraising and again as usual, they are doing a good job for us.

This has been a tough year for law enforcement across the nation. We have lost a lot of good people through violence and unfortunately, crime has spiked in general. We hope that 2017 will be a fresh start under "new management" as we welcome Donald Trump and his staff into the Whitehouse. May God guide and protect us all.

One of the greatest feelings in the world is to see our efforts and financial support brighten the lives of others. In 2016 alone, we held fundraisers for or gave contributions to the following:
  • Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters
  • Special Olympics of Virginia
  • American Red Cross
  • Easter Seals
  • Angel Flight
  •  Scouts of America
  •  Freedom Walk
  •  Enforcement United
  •  Wounded Warrior
  •  Food Bank
  • Boys and Girls Club

In addition, the Lodge supports families of law enforcement, community members, and friends in the greater Peninsula area. Through donations for those in need as well as the efforts of our State Representatives in Richmond and Washington DC.

We have one of the best Associate Lodges in the area. This past year, our Associates held dinners for Newport News Police Academy recruits and their families, a Police Memorial Week breakfast and organized various social functions for Lodge members. One of our biggest hits is our annual Halloween Party. This year, we held our Easter Egg Hunt at the Lodge and it was another success! The FOPA continues to help us shine!

In 2017, I would like to continue our focus on family. We  will continue to organize more events so our officers, their spouses and their children will be able to benefit from all the F.O.P. has to offer. In an effort to provide our police family with some family fun for members of all ages, we will utilize the lodge as well as other locations to create a safe and comfortable atmosphere for the entire family.  I ask everyone to visit our site often and stay safe through 2017! Check back for for updates on future events!

"Hoss"

Respectfully,
Jim “Hoss” Cartwright, President
